Thank You!

August 27th, 2015

Mrs. McPhillips has retired from teaching Kindermusik, thank you to all my former families for all the years of fun and all the memories.

Music and movement for the under 5 set

August 23rd, 2014

We want to go to school too. The big kids are all heading off to school, the littles want to go as well. Bring them to Kindermusik weekly, the home work is actually home fun. Play the CDs you get in class as part of your home materials. Read the books too.

Each week Mrs. McPhillips will guide you through songs and dances designed by Kindermusik International to enhance your youngster’s inborn love of music and desire for learning. Mrs. McPhillips, me, will show you how to use music as a soother of savage beasts at the witching hour, will assist in keeping riding in the car pleasant (without having to use the DVD player, just the CD player), will make diaper changing time easier with teaching the art of distraction with a song, will listen to you as you do the hardest job there is to do on the planet and will introduce you to people who are walking the same path you are walking.

What do you and your little one get? 2 CDs, books, instruments, guidance, companionship, playtime, friendship, songs that you’ll hear in your head all day and memories caught in pictures, in your mind and in your heart.

Classes are divided into age groupings, Village – (0-18 mo), Our Time (18 mo – 3), Imagine That (3 1/2 – 5).  We can make it work for multiple kiddos in a family, usually having the younger sibling come up to the next level.  Discounts are offered for more than one sibling enrolled at a time.

For eight years, I’ve been priviledged to teach so many children.  The oldest of those critters have begun 4th grade this year.  Thank you for trusting me. I’m looking forward to making more memories with more little ones this year.  So exciting to begin again.

Happy New Year, Happy New Village Class

January 3rd, 2014

Time for Cock a doodle Moo and the baby class. Start date January 6, 2014. 10:30 at Larchmont United Methodist Church.

Music activities for babies and their caregivers led by Mary McPhillips, whose own kids said she is the fun one. These kids wouldn’t tell tales, they’ve been raised on kindermusik. Happy Farmer, by Schuman, 3 of the 4 can play on the violin now, and they heard it first in Kindermusik as babies. Their mom played it on the piano as a youngster. (and can still play it now).

Drop an email to 28legs@cox.net. Mary will respond. (not always at lightning speed, but will respond.)

Up with Baby in the middle of the night?

September 12th, 2013

What will we do with the Baby o, when she won’t go to sleepy o?

If you are in kindermusik classes, singing the little songs from class or putting on the CD can help to calm and soothe your little one.  Many a momma (and poppa, and nanny) has experienced the magic of putting the CD in and magically, (not really, but we can call it magic) their little pookie settles down.

This session we will be singing about the autumn leaves and wild geese flying just in time for the season.  Also, our Do Si Do bears make their return and Boom Pa Pa all the way through the day.

Come along and dance with me!

It’s Our Time to sing together

September 12th, 2013

“Our Time”  is really their time now … we are devoted to our children, so painfully devoted that we view them as someone once said (wish I could remember whom)

“Our children are our hearts beating outside of our chests.”

Bring your beating heart to Our Time classes and allow them the joy of feeling the beat to many different songs, finger plays, and dances.  Instruments come out and we investigate what types of beats we can make with them too.

They are smiling, you know they are learning too! (so you smile)

Different folks sign up for Kindermusik for different reasons. Kiddos love music, mommas love to see other mommas (poppas too).

Some of our little ones are Kindermusiking just for the assortment of shoes that magically appear along the wall during class which are picked up and shared with their caregiver. Other little ones are Kindermusiking for the finger plays that end with a tickle up under their chins and along their shoulders. Most are Kindermusiking for the inevitable bouncing songs that allow them to “ride” horses, wagons, waves, and jump over stiles.

Wishy Washy Wishy Washy Wishy Washy WEEEEEEE! makes it’s return.

Kindermusik time!

August 27th, 2013

Leaping dolphins, scuttling crabs and digging in the sand. Waves made of scarves, hoops turned into boats, summer session provided families tunes and activities to go along with the life they were living.

The babies bending down at our saying “splashing in the water” PRICELESS. They understand so much before they can talk! Keep talking and singing.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
